View Full Version : Which marker for Random?

So I'm looking into getting my second marker (I have an A-5 R/T right now) for use in speedball and maybe competitive play in the future.
I don't need anything real great, I definitelly don't want to spend more than $500 on JUST the marker, $250 to $400 is really about the price range I'm looking for.
I've been leaning towards smart parts markers mainly because I know some about them. But I'm willing to look at other brands too.

Here's some stuff I'm considering:

1. I heard over at pbnation that SP isn't making the impulse anymore, is this true?

2. I heard the ion is hard to take apart and put back together quickly.

3. I want a marker that will be good in stock form. I don't want to buy upgrades unless I want to, and not if I have to.

4. I don't have a use for rebound, burst, full-auto or ramping. I was kindof leaning towards an impy (don't really wanna spend the money on a nerve unless it's going to be that much better) because I read that stock it only shoots semi.

5. I don't really care about weight. Right now I have an A-5 and the weight doesn't bother me one bit, so I'm not really concerned about the weight.

6. I'd like a gun that won't cost alot, will be easy to maintain, won't break easilly and also I'd like it to still be reasonable to be competetive with other markers in 5 - 8 years if I take good care of it.

Which would you guys suggest?
Thanks

Hey if you dont want to spend that much you could get a ion. I know that you heard that they are hard to take apart but I one of my buddys has one and he can take it apart fast (and hes not the brightest person). If you really dont want to get a ion though you could look into a Piranha evo 2005. They can shoot up to 21bps or you could set it to shoot 17bps steady. They are real easy to take apart because I had a piranha a few years back. I have looked into promasters to and they look like good guns. I dont know how they take apart though. I would not get a imp though (they are not that fast). You also might want to look into a dm3 or dm4. They are fast and they are ok in the taking apart area. If you want more gun ideas e-mail me.

That one looks alot like the Diablo Wrath, almost too much alike.
Good luck on your marker search, I'm looking in the same price range.

If you're looking at the impulse, an Evil PIMP wouldn't be a bad choice. The price has come down significantly on them in the past couple of years. I might even be picking one up when I get out of debt.

Hey I found this gun and it looks pretty sharp and its fast, cheap, and easy to take apart. Heres the web site http://cgi.ebay.com/New-2006-Diablo-Wrath-LTD-Limited-Paintball-Gun-Grey_W0QQitemZ7241066701QQcategoryZ16048QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem You also might want to look into a Evil Omen.

I'd have to say a used DM4 is your best bet for that money. Fast, consistent, reliable (as long as you look after it), easy to maintain (bolt maintenance is really simple, as is cleaning) and has a wide range of ups for it.

Black dust ones going for as little as $650 on PBNation.

Don't get an Omen. Look at my name. I had one. And there's a reason I don't still have it.

I'm pretty sure it was simply supposed to reflect on the name without actually saying it. I doubt it was a mistake on his part but rather a clever quirk in his post.

No Bartz there is no Gavi marker on the market. I was just trying to give Gavi a little insentive to come out to Bubbas today and shoot my *** off.

DM4's are alot cheaper than 650 on PBN thats what the DM5's are going for but i would suggest a evil minion for just 50 more they are just a PL PM6

If your looking for a cheap gun I'll sell you my Diablo Mongoose ll for around $115. It's used, of course, but not very much, and the new ones have wrong sized springs so I already replaced that. And I replaced all the O rings, cleaned, and oiled it all up, so it's about as good as new. So if you or anyone else is interested in it than you can e-mail me at stevo_21@hotmail.com and we will work something out.
