Well, just got back from this place... it's easy to find in rice lake, and I'd say being only an hour or so from eau claire it's not a bad option for indoor paintball.

They shoot reballs up here, so it's all on the honor system... it's kind of a dark part of a concrete building, but I'm sure given time they'll find a way to protect the lights from the reballs and make sure that it's a little better lit. The floor is concrete, but he has plans to put in the action turf with both the padding and the astro-turf style top layer. This would be a defenitly improvement as right now, any sliding would just result in ruined clothes or body parts.

The reballs worked well, shot nice, I'd have to say that I was a little dissapointed in their use of barrel blocking devices... and the enforcement of the goggles on rule was a little lax as well. on the defenite plus side is the fact that the cost is minimal... 10 dollars an hour and shoot as much as you want... can't beat that for practice or taking care of that midwinter itch.

All in all, not a bad time, give them a chance to get an air compressor in there and to do something about the floors and i think it'd be a relativly good place to play, especially on those days when it's to cold or nasty to be outside playing.

I guess I give it a 3 out of 5 but I have high expectations that they will improve in a short time.

I heard about this place on PBnation. Sounds like it might be a decent place to go once they at least get compressed air. I think I might have to go up there and check it out.

Word of warning!!

Reballs can and do break your stuff! They will go through hoppers and can get lodged in lenses! I have seen it. At Matt's house here, they have both reball and regular, while it is appealing to play reball because it is cheap, be careful, it can break your stuff.

Reballs are more dense then paintballs, they can break your stuff. Just so you all are warned! 30 bucks or so for a 3 hours of play is good and all, but when you have to spend 120 on top of that for a new Halo...;may not be worth it...just a warning.

BTW...HEY ALL!!!

The no compressor thing was kind of a downer. And I was a bit frustrated with the field being as small as it was. But overall, it was a fun time I suppose.

hey chris....not sure if i am missing something in your post. But i think it was on the third "warning they break your stuff", that i don't know what they break. Oooo first burn on the new forum....YES!!

Just wondering what you mean by "break your stuff"? I have heard of Halo's getting screwed up because of a reball getting stuck and not allowing the drive to move, but no one I know has had anything break using them.
If you mean physically broke, were these markers chrono'd down for the use of reballs? I think they had us turn ours down to under 250, at least that's what I remember.
I played Rice Lake, and thought it was pretty enjoyable. Small, and the shooting lanes were a little messed up, but I thought it was worth the $$ and the trip. The staff were cool, the price was right, and none of us had anything break. Yeah, the lighting was a little dim, but it's still playable. and when you got bored wiht playing ,you can go drool over the sweet custom cars in the garage on the other side:)

I have to say that's it's entirely possible for a regular paintball to break stuff, we have a few A-5 hoppers laying around to prove this. I also have to say that if you turn your velocity down with reballs there's no reason they should damage any equipment in good working condition. I was shot by them several times this day, and I can't say that they even hurt that much more then regular paintballs.

Played up there again, and still no problems with the reballs. I did get one stuck under the blades in my Halo TSA, but that was easily cleared.
Talking to the Staff, I guess upgrades to the lighting and the flooring is in the works. Bigger, covered lights that will hopefully take care of some of the "shadows", and not go out when shot like what happened this time. And it sounds like they are gonna put in some cheap turf carpet of some kind.
The more I play there, the more I like it as a winter practice location. Friendly staff that is willing to help out if your gear is having "issues", and a reasonable price. I think we paid $20 a piece and played for about 3 hours.
